Textbook

Ronald G. Ehrenberg and Robert S. Smith, Modern Labor Economics, seventh edition (Addison Wesley Longman, 2000).

Grading

The grade for the course will be based on three midterm examinations, two book reviews, and a term paper. These four assignments will be weighted equally. From time to time other work will be assigned; its quality will be used at the margin to raise and lower the course grade.

Note: To pass this course you must take all three examinations and complete the paper. You are expected to take the examinations and submit the paper at the scheduled time; exceptions must be negotiated in advance. The professor reserves full discretion to lower the grade for late work.
