Stella Chen

BP

Stella heads up Cambrian’s technology division advises its energy and education divisions. Prior to joining Cambrian, she worked in the market analysis department at Southern California Edison and the food, chemicals, and materials department at Frost & Sullivan, a market research firm based in California. Stella will graduate from Pomona College in May with a degree in Mathematical Economics. Outside of the office, Stella enjoys travel and Asian cuisines.

Richard Creedon

BP

Richard leads Cambrian’s media division and advises its automotive and apparel divisions. Before joining Cambrian, Richard gained experience in private wealth management at Merrill Lynch. He will be graduating from Pomona College in 2011 with a major in Mathematical Economics and a minor in Chemistry.  Following his graduation, Richard will be joining the PFM Group as a financial consultant in San Francisco.  In his free time, Richard enjoys playing basketball and volunteering with Uncommon Good, a non-profit focusing on local children.

Matt Jevsevar

BP

Matthew is Cambrian’s lead consultant for the education division and advises for its food services and apparel divisions. His career interests include investment management and product management and he will hold a B.A. in Economics from Pomona College. He has experience working for BlackRock as well as managing an international equity portfolio. In his spare time, he enjoys keeping up on current events, fitness, night-time walks on the beach and riding horses.

Max Kroloff

BP

Max leads Cambrian’s pharmaceuticals division and consults for its automotive and aerospace divisions. Prior to joining Cambrian, Max worked as an anesthesia tech at Evanston Hospital and did research for the Foundation for Retinal Research. He is majoring in Economics and minoring in Chemistry at Pomona College. Following his graduation in May 2011, Max will be leaving Cambrian to attend medical school. At Pomona, Max was a member of the varsity men's golf team. He enjoys exercising, playing intramural basketball and adventuring.

Alec Larson

BP

Alec heads up Cambrian’s food services division and advises its financial services and media divisions. Before joining the Cambrian Group, Alec worked as a quantitative research assistant for Professor Tahir Andrabi in Pomona College’s Economics Department. He will be graduating from Pomona in 2011 with a degree in Mathematical Economics and a minor in Mathematics. Following graduation, Alec will be joining the Analysis Group as an analyst in their Los Angeles office. While at Pomona, Alec played four years of varsity soccer and helped the team capture a SCIAC championship. Outside of work, Alec enjoys playing basketball, reading and following Minnesota sports.

MD Xiaoye Ma

BP

MD is Cambrian’s lead consultant for the aerospace division and advises its energy and logistics divisions. Prior to joining Cambrian, he directed a documentary used to raise funds to renovate an elementary school for the Hmong children in rural China. MD gained industry experience working for a strategy consulting firm in Shanghai developing market-entry strategies for foreign clients. After graduating from Pomona College with degrees in Media Studies and Economics, MD will join Deloitte Consulting’s strategy and operations practice as a business analyst.

Zachary Mattler

BP

Zachary leads the financial services division at Cambrian and advises the education and automotive divisions. After graduating from Pomona College in 2011, he will join Bank of America-Merrill Lynch as an investment banking analyst. His prior experience includes working as a summer analyst at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, conducting antitrust law research at the Hudson Institute, and working as an intern for a middle-market private equity firm. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, mountaineering, and volunteering.

Cailee Moberg

BP

Cailee co-heads Cambrian’s automotive division and advises its aerospace and media divisions. Prior to Cambrian, she gained experience in California’s energy industry, international intellectual property law, and private equity investing in Southeast Asia and China. After graduating from Pomona College in May 2011 with a double major in Economics and Environmental Analysis, Cailee will join Bain & Company as an associate consultant. When she’s not working, Cailee enjoys traveling, skiing and learning languages.

Charles Sander

BP

Charles leads Cambrian’s apparel division and advises its automotive and pharmaceuticals divisions. Prior to joining Cambrian, he worked as a risk analyst in the fund-of-hedge-funds division of BlackRock in their Seattle, WA office. Charles is currently the head of Developed Markets Group at Sagehen Capital Management, an equity long-short hedge fund with more than $1.75 million in assets under management. He will graduate from Pomona College this May with a B.A. in Mathematical Economics. In his spare time, Charles enjoys movies, music, keeping fit, and going to Pub.

Sam Seidman

BP

Sam leads Cambrian’s logistics division and consults for its technology and food services divisions. Prior to joining Cambrian Consulting, he interned for Sloane Robinson, an equity long-short hedge fund based in London with more than $7.0 billion in assets under management. Sam will graduate from Pomona College with a major in Economics, after which Sam has no immediate plans to leave the Cambrian Group. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, rock climbing and tennis.

John Wick

BP

John leads Cambrian’s energy division and advises its technology and pharmaceutical divisions. Prior to Cambrian, John worked in hedge fund and fund-of-funds consulting, asset management, and corporate social responsibility. Concurrently with his work at Cambrian, John is the CEO of Sagehen Capital Management, an equity long-short hedge fund with more than $1.75 million in assets under management. After graduating Pomona with a Mathematical Economics major, John will join the Macquarie Group as an investment banking analyst. In his free time, John enjoys teaching sailing and playing tennis.

Ying Zeng

BP

Ying co-heads Cambrian’s automotive division and advises its logistics and financial services divisions. Before joining Cambrian, Ying gained experience in asset management and investment banking. Ying currently leads the Emerging Markets Group of Sagehen Capital Management, an equity long-short hedge fund with more than $1.75 million in assets under management. Ying will graduate from Pomona College in May 2011 with a degree in Economics. Following graduation, Ying will join Barclays Capital in Hong Kong as an investment banking analyst. In his free time, Ying enjoys traveling to new places and playing golf.

James D. Likens

BP

James Likens is the Morris B. and Gladys S. Pendleton Professor of Economics at Pomona College. He teaches courses in microeconomic theory, industrial organization and labor economics. He holds a B.A. in economics and a MBA in management from the University of California at Berkeley and took his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Minnesota. He has extensive experience working for a number of major corporations and as a business consultant. For fun he plays golf, does research on his family history and follows the Dodgers.
